Sri Lanka’s diversity of terrain provides the opportunity for amazing treks and hikes. The Knuckles Range is a great off-the-beaten track attraction for anyone interested in hiking. Around 31 species of mammals, 20 species of amphibians and 130 species of birds are available here which makes the camping more interesting. One can also meet up close with the inhabitants of the small quaint villages and get to know more about their lifestyle here.

Day 1: Illukumbura
Arrive at Illukumbra after a short transfer from Kandy. We will start our hike from Illukumbra towards the Manigala Mountain. We will trek through the lush montane evergreen forest along the Knuckles valley, until we reach the top of the Manigala Mountain. Once we reach the top, you can enjoy the spectacular 360 degree view of the Knuckles mountain ranges. We will spend some time on top before trekking back to our campsite. Overnight stay at the camp.

Day 2: Knuckles Range
Today, we will be trekking from Manigala. We will be walking through the lush evergreen rainforest along the Knuckles mountain ranges. After few kilometres of climb through the forest, we will trek down the valley and will be walking along the shores of Kalu Ganga River. While on the trek, you also have the option to take a quick dip in the river. We will also be crossing few streams and waterfalls before reaching our campsite. Overnight stay at the camp.

Day 3: Depart to Kandy
Depart after breakfast and transfer to Kandy.
